During this consultation, we will gather the necessary information from you, propose a suitable legal strategy, and advise you on what evidence to collect. If, based on this initial consultation, you decide to work with us further, we will prepare a contract for ongoing legal assistance—and then we get to work.

To schedule this initial consultation, we will first contact you free of charge to ask for a few details about your situation. In a phone call lasting approximately fifteen minutes, we will determine whether your case falls within an area of law we specialize in, suggest which of our attorneys could handle your matter, inform you about the documents you should bring to the meeting, and arrange a specific appointment time. We will also check whether your case presents a conflict of interest with that of another client—if it does, we would not be able to provide legal assistance.
Our hourly rates for one-time consultations range from CZK 1,500 to CZK 5,000 per hour. The highest rates apply to JUDr. Bruncko and Mgr. Straka, although the final price also depends on the complexity of the case. During the initial free phone call, we will inform you of the hourly rate for your consultation and estimate how long the consultation is likely to take. After the one-time consultation, we will be able to specify the cost of long-term legal representation—whether it will be based on an hourly rate, a fixed fee for services, or a success-based (contingency) fee arrangement.
For simpler family law matters, we typically offer representation at an hourly rate, and the total cost for our services is usually in the tens of thousands of Czech crowns. For more complex cases, the cost may be significantly higher—especially if dozens or even hundreds of hours of legal work are required.
At the one-time legal consultation, we will listen to your story so that we can fully understand your case. We aim to understand not only the legal facts but also the human side of the situation—so that no essential detail escapes us. Thanks to this approach, we can gather all the necessary information even in a short period of time and propose the most suitable legal strategy for your case.
During the initial meeting, we will also identify what evidence will be necessary for your case to succeed, and explain how to obtain that evidence. If we determine that assistance from other professionals (such as psychologists, financial experts, or court-appointed experts) is needed, we will recommend who you should contact.
A one-time consultation with a member of our team can always be scheduled within 2 business days from the moment you reach out to us. However, if you request representation by a specific attorney, a longer wait may be necessary depending on their availability.
The consultation is billed based on its actual duration, and payment can be made in cash or by card.
In addition to in-person meetings, consultations can also be conducted online—typically via Skype or Zoom. If you request an online consultation, we will send you a pro forma invoice in advance, and payment of this invoice is required for the consultation to take place.
If you decide to work with us following the one-time consultation, we will prepare a contract for ongoing legal representation and send it to you for review. We will also inform you of the amount of the retainer for long-term legal services, as the provision of legal services begins only after the retainer has been paid.
This retainer is used to cover the cost of legal services as they are provided, and we will request its replenishment over time as needed.
We represent you based on your instructions and keep you informed about what we believe is the best next step. We never take action without your prior agreement. You are welcome to contact us at any time with your questions, comments, or suggestions regarding the case strategy.
You may terminate the ongoing representation at any time and without giving a reason. Upon termination, we will prepare a final billing statement and return any unused portion of the retainer.
